I have a 2003 Buick Century and there are several warning lights that come on at different times when I am driving. the low track light, the abs light, and etc. These lights are all yellow-orange in color not red. I have checked the car several times myself and have had it checked by mechanics also. When we put a diagnostic computer on it there are no codes read. I reset the system by placing the car in neutral shutting off the engine and then restarting this clears the problem for another length of time. Sometimes I get the pulsing sound of the ABS when the lights are on but again no problem breaking or otherwise. I think it may be a faulty switch but I understand that this is difficult to replace as it is on the frame somewhere. Could you give me some advice and or further checks.
Protech:
Ok, the low Trac light and abs light are related and will come on together when there is an abs problem. And if you’re not using a proper scanner, And there is no ‘resetting’ procedure like you describe. If someone told to you put the car in neutral and shut it off, then restart, they told you wrong. There is not way to reset other than clearing the codes or fixing the problem. The lights are coming on due to an ABS problem, you most likely have a bad wheel speed sensor or hub bearing. Those are the most common things that go out on your car. The wiring harness to any specific speed sensor could be to blame as well, but it would need checked out by a qualified tech.
OK thanks. I think it was the owners manual that gave this procedure. However, I will get the correct scanner for this diagnosis. The front end sway bar, brakes, and struts were all replaced within the last 6K miles. Sorry I forgot to mention that. Thanks again.
You’re welcome, have a great night!
2002 Buick Century
ABS and SES and TRAC Off lights on. Replaced front wheels hubs got a c1232 code for left front wheel sensor open or short but still lights on. What should I do now.
ProTech:
Your problem is most likely the wiring harness to one of the front wheel speed sensors/hubs. Moisture gets into the plastic conduit causing corrosion and wiring problems. You can replace one or both by purchasing a pigtail assembly from your local GM dealership.

i have a 2005 buick lacrosse with the 3.6. how do i reach the crankshaft position sensor. doing this repair myself
I have a 2002 Buick Century and the light in the dash that illuminates the odometer reading does not work, i read where there is a problem with the (i want to say it was the circuit board, but don’t remember for sure) anyway there was a problem with the soldering connections on the board. I don’t know how many models that had this problem, but mine does, now i’m having issues with the anti lock and trac light coming on and off at different times also the service engine soon light, i’m wondering if all of this is related to the soldering on the board issue? Anyone out there know?
No, the engine light, ABS and traction lights have nothing to do with the instrument cluster circuit board problem. You actually have an ABS problem and a check engine light problem.
my 2002buick century code 1232 says acceleration sensor.abs lights on,tract lighte on.what do I do
I have a 2003 buick lesabre limited today 8/6/16 the tranny started slipping really bad i pulled the abs fuse because i have been having problems with the traction control system as well and fixed slipping issue i only want the fuse pull to be a temp fix and am wanting to know what could be wrong
May not be a transmission problem at all. If resetting the traction / ABS system by pulling fuse, that sounds like the traction system is causing a feel like a trans slip. You need to get the computer codes scanned.
Where the abs brake system located on a 2003 buick century
code said right front censor so changed bearing cleard codes all lights came back on checked wires connection checked bearing multi meter wires to plug all good .question is possible abs module ? still has right front code. car is 2003 buick century.
Check the harness on the lower control arm going to the sensor plug. Take it apart and look for broken or corroded wires. This is common. Pull on the wires to see if any stretch. Just because they test good for continuity, does not mean that only 1 or 2 strands are the only thing holding it together, or that a wire is corroded. Also, cheap bearings can also give a code.
Thank you for this information, great help.
