How do i change the power outlet fuse on my 2009 Chevy Traverse. The front one and passenger one went out and is not charging our cell phones. The one all the way in the back by the hatch is working still so that is why i assume its the fuse.
ProTech:
More than likely your phone chargers are popping the fuse, and after replacement they will probably blow again. But the fuse is easy to change. the fuse you want to check is in the under hood fuse box, it is labeled AUX PWR and is a yellow 20 amp fuse.
I thought that’s what the manual said but Is the fuse near the battery compartment because I couldn’t take the cover off? Is there a way to prevent the chargers from blowing the fuses?.
The fuse box is under the hood, the battery compartment is under the back seats, so no. Phone chargers are very, very cheaply made. More often than not, they are the cause of the blowing fuse issue. You can try a different manufacturer of the same charger, preferably OEM.
Really, that is interesting. How do you get the top off the fuse box?
You just pull up on the cover…there are small release tabs you may have to push in, but it is really quite easy! It should take all of about 10 seconds.
Is it near the place where you jump start the car because that’s the only place I saw something that looked like the picture. Wow i tried for 10 min and it wouldn’t come up maybe i am trying to pull the wrong cover.
The underhood fuse box is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, and yes near the positive and negative jump spots.
Okay thank you I will try again. Thanks for the help.
Your welcome.

My 2009 Traverse suddenly wouldn’t accelerate after I stopped at lights/stop signs. I took a while for it to get going. The check engine light is also on. After making it home safely, I let it sit for about 20 minutes turned off. When I went out to turn it on the light was still on but it did accelerate. This has happened twice. Please advise. I purchased this car with 42000 on it. Thank you.
You really need the Traverse scanned to see what trouble codes have set. This would help in diagnosis. These vehicles have a couple common problems including the transmission and engine. If it is a severe problem like either of those two, it should be covered by the GM powertrain warranty at your local Chevrolet dealership. Take it in as soon as you can and they should take care of the problem for you.
