Hey! ok, so I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier and I want to take the drivers seat out but there’s a wire under there and I don’t know what it does. The car doesn’t have power seats, or anything like that. I can’t unplug it despite a plug being there it won’t come apart. Can I just cut it or will it mess something up? Thanks!

The wire you are referring to is for the seat belt buckle. This is what turns on and off the seatbelt light on the dash, when you buckle or unbuckle the driver’s seat belt. The connector should come apart normally, there is a small tab that needs lifted upward to separate the connector ends.
If it is corroded or melted, or filled with debris, it may be difficult to remove. I would NOT recommend cutting the wire, as your seatbelt light will be on ALL the time then.
