93 Pontiac Bonneville will not start when my security light is flashing it may take minutes,hours or days for it to stop blinking. It will only start when the light stays on and while I’m driving it stays on. I have had the car for 8 years and have never had this problem or even seen a security light. Until i had my steering collar replaced and the ignition switch was not replaced could someone please help me.
You have a Passkey system on your Bonneville. Sometimes the wires that go from the ignition cylinder to the base of the column get weak and break. Sometimes they touch enough to the let car start, other times not. I would check into that for starters and go from there. Most likely you need a new ignition cylinder.
