Oldsmobile Aurora SIR Airbag Coil Replacement

      My Olds needs to have the SIR Coil replaced. Dealer tested non working cruise control and found problem is SIR coil not sending current to the cruise module under dash. Quoted replacement for $486 installed. I can buy part for $96 locally. Where can I get installation directions/video along with wiring diagram for the coil kit? Any help would be super. Thanks, Doug.

      Reply: I doubt you will find a video online for this airbag system repair on your Oldsmobile Aurora. If you do not have experience with steering column work, i would not suggest attempting the repair. You will need special tools to get the steering wheel off. If you can do this, then there is just a snap ring that holds the SIR coil in place, after removing the trim covers and steering wheel.

      This is a difficult repair on the Oldsmobile Aurora. Special tools are needed. Just pay the mechanic and save yourself the headache.
