Ok. My Chevy Monte Carlo has been out of commission for a few days. We found out it was the fuel pump. So we get that connected, go to start her up and find out there is no power getting to the fuel pump. We were told that we needed to check the wiring from the fuel pump relay to the fuel pump to locate the short. Sounds easy enough… We have the test light to do so. But we cannot find a wiring diagram to help us locate which wires to test. Need help to know what to do and what to check!

First off, you need to make sure you’re getting power to the fuel pump relay first! Is the fuse good? If the relay clicks when you turn the key to the ‘on’ position, then up to that point is good. Have you put a fuel pump in the car? If so, recheck connections, or even the new pump could be bad. If you’re getting power at the relay in the fuse block and no power at the fuel pump connector, then you know for sure you have an open somewhere from the relay to pump. If you do have power at the pump, it’s a bad pump. We don’t provide schematic information for free. If you’re interested in purchasing that info, please leave your email here and someone will get back to you.
