How To Change Belt – Interior Light Stay On

What do I need to take loose to change a serpentine belt on a 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva.

2.4L four cylinder.

The 2.4 engines are relatively easy to change the belt. You just need to release the tensioner to get the belt off, and install a new one. Nothing else needs to be taken off or removed. You can reach it from the top, but it is easiest from underneath or through the right side wheel well opening.

Were is the tensioner located at what size wrench.

It is just below the alternator and usually a 15mm size.

No try 2 put on old belt broke.

I have a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass. My interior lights won’t turn off. What could be wrong and how do I fix it?

Probably a bad door jamb switch keeping the lights on.

Where is that located?

Each door has it’s own switch. It can be located in the door opening, on the body side, or as part of the lock assembly.
